Civil War
form the (confederates) from April 12th 1861- May 9th 1865. The first battle was Battle of Bull Run and
the last battle was the battle of Palmito Ranch.
During the war many laws were passed by congress to ensure everyone's safety and financial futural.
There was a law that prohibited discrimination. The Pacific Railroad Act of 1862 insured financial safety
for lost jobs and provide a transcontinental traveling and land grants for companies. The Homestead Act
of 1862 gave open land to family owned farms for free. But of course the slave owners, that i love to call
(the complainers of our lifetime) were not too happy about it because they thought it was unfair for their
"potential" land to be given out to smaller farming companies.
